Coral Racing Club is a free membership platform from Coral, one of the UK's most established bookmakers operating under Entain plc, giving horse racing fans an ownership-style experience. Members follow a stable of racehorses through trainer updates and behind-the-scenes content, and compete to win yard visits, raceday tickets and hospitality packages at major UK meetings including Cheltenham, Ascot and Goodwood.
The platform spans a responsive web application and native mobile apps on Android and iOS. Members receive live content, competition entries and personalised updates, so the quality of every screen, from login flows to race news pages, directly affects engagement and brand trust. As the platform scaled, keeping the UI pixel-accurate and the functional behaviour reliable across every device became a critical quality objective.
Before and after QAble
Before QAble
With QAble
No structured test case library for web or mobile
UI not validated against Figma design specifications
No cross-platform testing across Windows, Mac, Android and iOS
Font attributes, spacing and visual elements unchecked
Bug reporting lacked consistency and traceability
Functional flows untested across key member journeys
No formal QA process integrated into the delivery cycle
Mobile-specific functional behaviour left unverified on Android and iOS
Our engagement
Our QA engineers embedded directly into the Coral Racing Club delivery team, working alongside developers and designers to validate the platform's web and mobile applications end to end. The engagement covered functional testing, confirming every feature worked as intended across member journeys, and detailed UI testing mapped precisely against the Figma design system.
For each screen and component, our team checked font attributes including family, weight, size and line height, colour values, spacing and alignment, and overall visual fidelity against the approved designs. This Figma-first approach protected design intent all the way through to production, and discrepancies were caught and reported with direct design references to speed up resolution.
On the functional side, our team authored structured test cases in MS Excel covering all major user flows, member registration and login, content browsing, and competition entry, executed across four platform configurations: Windows browsers, Mac browsers, Android and iOS. Defects were documented with clear reproduction steps and severity classification, with day-to-day communication handled through Microsoft Teams to keep the team aligned on test progress and outstanding issues.

What QAble delivered
Services
Functional testing
Our team designed and executed test cases covering all key functional flows across the Coral Racing Club platform: member onboarding, login and account management, content discovery, competition entry workflows and notification interactions. Each flow was validated across web and mobile environments to ensure consistent behaviour regardless of device or browser. All critical and blocker defects were identified and reported before release, protecting the member experience at every touchpoint.
